Course description
The Daily Dutch course is an intensive introduction to the Dutch language and culture. The aim of the course is to give you a basic understanding of Dutch and an opportunity to learn more about our culture. At the end of the course you will have a basic knowledge of Dutch and will be able to participate in simple conversations.
Each week a new cultural theme will be introduced (in total 10 different themes). During each class you will be encouraged to practice the grammar, speech, pronounciation, and intonation of the Dutch language. The course provides lots of opportunities to practice speaking. Active participation is required.
Course outline
The course consists of 10 classes of 2 hours each and 1 exam. The total study load per week is about 4 hours: 2 hours for the class and 2 hours for individual study and preparation. You are allowed to miss a maximum of 2 classes, but this may affect your final grade negatively, as evaluation takes place continuously. After successfully finishing the course plus exam, the students will receive a certificate of completion.
