At Rijnland, you’re not just working anywhere. You’re working on something truly important: keeping 1.3 million people dry and providing them with clean water. Ever since 1255, we’ve been protecting our environment from water and ensuring that water serves us, rather than threatening us. That’s what we call: real water management.

The Trainee Company

We connect talent to organisations, to the future and to one another!
Every year, thousands of young professionals graduate. They are bright, full of ambition and ready to get started, yet the search for a job can take a long time. At the same time, organisations are struggling with staff shortages, high workloads and vacancies that remain unfilled for a long time.

It sounds contradictory, but it happens every day.

At The Trainee Company, we see a gap between what organisations are looking for and what new graduates can demonstrate. Not because there is a lack of talent, but because the transition from study to the workplace often proves to be a bigger step than anticipated. We want to bridge that gap between education and the labour market.

We believe that young talent develops more quickly when they receive the right guidance, and that organisations become stronger when they invest in people who are motivated and eager to learn.

Through our traineeships, we bring these two worlds together. By building careers for new entrants and strong teams where talent is given the chance to grow. Because behind every successful professional, there was once someone who was given their first opportunity.

Diversion

Diversion is a social enterprise. As part of our peer education projects, young people (working part-time) deliver guest lessons in schools on social issues, including: mental health, financial literacy, and racism and discrimination. This is an educational part-time job for students, amongst others.

Defensity College

Defensity College is the Ministry of Defence’s military work-study programme for students at universities of applied sciences and research universities.

Bursar Society

Bursar Society Education Management Traineeship

It all starts with good education. Drawing on your own field of expertise, you can make a positive difference in this area. To make good education possible, we need not only teachers, but also people who work behind the scenes to help create a professional and well-organised educational organisation.

With our Education Management Traineeship, you’ll use your own field of expertise to advance education.

You’ll spend a year working directly within an educational organisation. For example, as an executive secretary, policy officer, project officer, data analyst or quality assurance officer. You’ll tackle real-world challenges and be given responsibility from day one. At the same time, you’ll develop your skills throughout our traineeship through workshops, coaching, peer review and guidance from experienced education professionals. Every Friday, we meet up in Utrecht with a close-knit group of fellow trainees for this purpose.

Curious to find out what you can contribute to education? We’re always on the lookout for talented newcomers who think and act boldly.

We’d love to speak to you at the Job Fair!

We stand for fellowship, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and stewardship. A family company, we are committed to securing tomorrow for the next generation, caring for our oceans, seas, lakes and rivers. At Damen we make time to listen to our clients. Our open, collaborative approach has been a key driver of our product portfolio’s evolution. Through our comprehensive portfolio of maritime services, we enable humanity to responsibly harness the opportunities our waters present. In the previous century, we introduced standardised shipbuilding in series. Facing the future, we aim to combine our heritage with innovation to become the world’s most sustainable shipbuilder.
