Leiden University College, which uses the Anna van Buerenplein location, consists of a building in which teaching takes place and studios in which students live. For this reason, the building is only accessible with a valid LU Card or by appointment.

Leiden University College regularly opens its doors for educational, inspirational and socially engaged events that have a direct connection to the education and research on The Hague campus. If you would like to organise something that might be of interest to our students and/or staff, please enquire about the possibilities. Due to limited capacity of the building, planning around education and research always takes priority.

Contact

If you would like to know more about the possibilities, please contact our Event Manager at events@luc.leidenuniv.nl.

Information from the municipality about paid parking in The Hague

LUC is located right next to the House of Representatives. Due to security regulations, the car accessibility of the square is only possible within certain time frames, and with prior permission. There is a Q-Park parking garage located underneath Anna van Buerenplein. It is therefore advisable to only request access to Anna van Buerenplein if this is necessary, for example when (un)loading heavy items. For other visits you can use the parking garage.

How to access the square by car?
The square can be accessed from the Prinses Irenestraat , between New Babylon and the House of Representatives. Please note that there are two barriers in place to restrict traffic to the square:

  1. Barriers of the House of Representatives
  2. Traffic bollards of the Municipality

1. Barriers House of Representatives – registration needed
Send an email to info@luc.leidenuniv.nl to let the LUC Information Desk know you want to come. They will register your car for the barriers of the House of Representatives Security Department. Please put your name, licence plate number, date of your visite in the email.

2. Bollards of Municipality – limited opening hours
You will be able to enter freely at times when the bollards are down. If you want to enter at a different time, apply for an exemption for retractable traffic barriers at least 5 working days in advance. This is something you need to do yourself, LUC can not help with this.

Here, you can find the times the bollards will go down automaticly;
Monday to Friday | 05:00 - 07:00 (AM) & 10:00 - 11:30 (AM)
During weekends | 06:00 - 11:30 (AM)

Parking Anna van Buerenplein
We do not have a set parking spot next to LUC, or somewere else on the squere. If you need to park you car, you need to apply for an occasional parking permit, yourself.

The Hague campus consists of three buildings in the administrative heart of the city. The students, researchers and staff of Leiden University have a place here that connects them directly to The Hague issues such as governance and security.

Students of Leiden University College The Hague (LUC) live at Anna van Buerenplein and attend lectures there. There are living studios for first- and second-year students, who are obliged to move in. On the other floors are teaching rooms. The offices of the academic and support staff are also located in this building.

For this reason, the building is only accessible to LUC-affiliated staff and students, or by appointment.
