Students in the spotlight: why the Honours College?

Celeste, Alexander and Alexa share why they do something extra during their bachelor's.

How can I start with the Honours College?

You can apply for an introductory course (5 EC) from a track at your own faculty or at another faculty. Please note: some tracks have limited spots available, so apply quickly!

Open to students from all faculties:

Only open to students from their own faculty:

  • Law – in Dutch (for students in law or criminology at the Law Faculty, upon invitation)

What happens after my introductory course?

If you have successfully completed the introductory course (5 EC) and obtained 60 EC in your bachelor by the end of the year, you can apply in the summer of 2026 for one of the Honours College tracks mentioned above. Like now, you will be able to apply for a track at another faculty, provided that the track is open to students from other faculties.

The credits you earn in the introductory course will count for the total EC you need to complete the Honours College.

After completing your introductory course, you may also choose not to continue with the Honours College. You will still have gained interesting insights that you can take with you to your regular studies.
