Students for students

At the POPcorner FSW you will find projects and activities that are organized for students and by students.

You can make use of these activities as a student of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, based on your request for help, but also as a buddy. These include the Buddy System and the Pre-study Programme.

Studying can bring a variety of challenges for students. That is why the Buddy System of the POPcorner consists of different specializations. The specializations within the Buddy System are:

Study without barriers

The  Study Without barriers Buddy System is there to help students who cannot always be physically present at the university due to health problems. Students with dyslexia can also register for the buddy system.

Pre-Study Programme: the transition to university/college

The Pre-Study Programme (PSP) links Leiden University students with 4 pre-university students with the same starting position: first-generation students and/or students with a diverse cultural background.

In this way, secondary school students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the academic field in an accessible way. On the one hand by doing research and on the other by reflecting on their personal development. This is under the guidance of a paraprofessional and expert by experience: a university student, and guided by the questions: What are my qualities? What would I like to achieve? What suits me?
