Cafés & restaurants

There are cafés and restaurants in almost every university building.

Although we do our best to ensure the uniformity of catering facilities, the opening hours and range of products can vary slightly from location to location.

Refectories

There are three university refectories, all situated in Leiden, which can be used by all Leiden University students. Meals are prepared by professional chefs and vegetarian options are available.

Different opening hours and menus

The opening hours mentioned above are standard, however different opening hours may apply  at certain times of year. For example some restaurants are closed or have limited opening hours  in the summer or during the Christmas break. Changes to opening hours will be posted online.  

The range of products on offer can sometimes differ from the information found on this website.

Halal products

Halal products are available in the university’s restaurants, for example halal pizzas, sandwiches and meat products.
